I absolutely love to sew....things that I love, that is. I do not like sewing clothes like altering or hemming. But I do however love to make anything for the home.
So, Christmas will be here shortly and last year I made smowmen ornaments and stockings. This year, I am loving angel wings! Of course I am making stockings and ornaments, but the wings are so pretty and can be kept out all year long.

Aren't they pretty? They add such a sweet, soft touch.
Here are some stockings I've made so far.
They are all lined. Of course I am partial to white...
The fabric roses add a nice touch, don't you think?
I love this one! Made with an old doily as the backdrop for the fabric rose.
Do you save the bags that the "Shabby Chic" sheet sets come in? I do...the pretty purple floral is from that line.
I made a pocket that buttons. I thought that would be nice for little treasures.
And who doesn't love chenille?
Some from Sara's old quilt when she was little...
I am loving the lavender this year!
I have so much fun making the stockings too, coming up with fabric combinations from scraps that I've hoarded is like Christmas!
I had to make costumes for Sara and Mike. I will post Sara's when she is all gussied up...she is tickled with her corset that I made. Not too bad for $17 for everything, right? Mike's costume was made from a shower curtain that was free, even better!
He went as Moses to our Fall Festival for church.
Mike said he was going to name himself
"the Shabby Sheik", though, with this beard, lol. He's pretty clever isn't he?
Can you guess who Sara is going to be? Note: the red hair. I can't wait to see her all dolled up for work. She's wanting to win first prize....I sure hope she does!
I'll be updating in the next few days, so make sure you check back in to see her and if she won.
You like sewing like I do---but I do love making DOLL clothes! Any chance you would share a pattern for those angel wings? I just LOVE them and would love to make a set for each of my 4 kids. They are beautiful and SO are your STOCKINGS!!! xo Diana

You are a very good seamstress. I think the wings would be great all year long. :):) The Christmas stockings are beautiful. xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteI've always loved chenille, so those are my favorite stockings. I envy how much you can get done. I enjoy sewing too, but I rarely get out my sewing machine because it takes me so long to finish a project. By the way, I sent you an e-mail to the address associated with your blog a few days ago. You don't have to answer it, but it contains some info that may help with your health issues so I just wanted to make sure that it went through. Happy (early) Halloween!
