All of this from a $20 Vanity

Have you ever thought that enough was enough?  That you didn't need anything else?  That you were content with it all?  Well, let me tell you, when I see old furniture, that's when I wished my home was double the size it is, lol.  But not when I have to clean what I have...then I wish it were smaller and dream of a condo or an apartment after retirement.  And yes, maybe even a tiny little cottage....
But for now, I still can make my dreams come true without breaking the bank!

This old vanity came up for sale the other day.  I jumped on it since I absolutely love to take them apart and make end tables.

They are perfect for small, tight spots and give extra storage.  Not to mention, the mirrors can be used in so many different ways.

This little room is where the action took place.  If you all remember, I had a storage seat where the small chest is now.

A birdcage used to sit where the night stand is.  I just love how they added that old charm to this room.

I took the wheels under the feet off to lower them a bit.

After the new year, I'll look for matching lamps.  I'm always excited to find new lighting!

This little table belonged to Mammaw and it was the first piece I was given when I got married.  it sat in my kitchen then up until just recently after we built the enclosure for the fridge.  There was no way on earth that I was storing it away or getting rid of it.  I can see Mammaw as a young mother sitting here and talking on the phone.  That is if she had the time between raising a family of 5 and all of the washing by hand that she had to do.

I took out the greenery I had in this basket and filled it with the berry twigs.  A soft and perfect touch when entering this room.

Just outside the door is where I used the mirror.

I had another mirror here that was gorgeous....but it now has a new place and look.

It's so much fun to repurpose old things that have charm.  And especially when it only cost $20!
I hope you all are having a wonderful week!  I know I am after having more tests done and them coming back "normal".... I am blessed!

  5. Hi Melanie,
You are one talented lady! You have a great eye. I'd love to find a vanity like that. When I was a kid I had one in my room and hated it back then.
    Your home is lovely.
    Merry Christmas
