Just a Sewing

First, I want to give some news that I finally have a diagnosis....Tachycardia.  Here is the definition if some of you do not know what it means.

Tachycardia is a faster than normal heart rate
at rest. A healthy adult heart normally beats
60 to 100 times a minute when a person is at
rest. If you have tachycardia (tak-ih-KAHR-
dee-uh), the heart rate in the upper chambers
or lower chambers of the heart, or both, is
increased.
Heart rate is controlled by electrical signals
sent across heart tissues. Tachycardia occurs
when an abnormality in the heart produces
rapid electrical signals.

In some cases, tachycardia may cause no
symptoms or complications. However,
tachycardia can seriously disrupt normal heart
function, increase the risk of stroke, or cause
 sudden cardiac arrest or death.

Treatments may help control a rapid heartbeat
 or manage diseases contributing to
tachycardia.

I am thrilled to now know, but now am in the
process of trying to find out what kind.
New meds and lots of praying....I just hope the
medicine works!

Aunt Judy is still doing good, so please keep
praying for the both of us.

Now on to what I did yesterday and today.  You
all know that I love to sew, right?
It is my therapy....

Our other chair needed some work so I switched
it out for this one.  The other slipcover was too big.
I had bought a sheet set that I was
hoping would go well with all of the British Rose.
I think it was perfect, so I made a new slipcover
for the smaller chair.

Of course I had to make a new slipcover for the
 lampshade too...

Then I thought I needed a different curtain.  So I
went through my linen closet for some spare white
sheets and made this beauty.

It gives a little more white which goes better with
the new slipcover for the chair.

I've added a few little things to this space like the
scallop trim at the top of the tall white cabinet and
 the applique.

I love it here...it's quiet and peaceful.  Great for
those nights you can't sleep and get on Pinterest for
new ideas.

Plenty of lightning now that we've gotten rid of all
of the fluorescent lighting.

Well, that's it for now.  I hope you all are enjoying
your week before the 4th and that you have a
 blessed holiday!

  4. Hi Melanie,
Glad you got a diagnosis. Tachycardia goes along with thyroid disease too. One problem leads to another. I hope they will start you on some meds to help bring down the heart rate. You know our heart is a big muscle and it only beats so many times in a life time so slowing it down is a good thing. Just glad you found out what was causing you symptoms. Have a happy 4th

  5. So glad for a diagnosis. It is sometimes easier to handle when we know the cause. I will continue to pray for a resolution. God bless and have a lovely 4th.

  6. What great looking chairs and table! They look both stylish and comfortable, both of which are things that I guess most people are looking for in a chair purchase. The overall space looks really good, too!
